Single parenting is one of the toughest challenges for single dads. It becomes a worst case scenario if they have no family’s or girlfriend’s support. Definitely it is a job requiring patience, time and a lot of personal skills. However, a single dad can handle the situations with the help of a little common sense, peaceful efforts.
Get kids involvement: Dealing with kids demands basic support from kids themselves. Get their involvement in your routine work such as arranging their study room, to eat food themselves, playing outdoor games in the park, etc. Besides it you can train children to do a little work like vacuum cleaning, sweeping, etc. Through this you may get enough time to perform other typical tasks.
Set a weekly time table: You can’t do everything everyday if you are living with kids without getting divorce from your spouse. That time you can use a weekly time table to perform your duties, in which you can assign a day to particular tasks such as clothes washing on Sunday, shopping on Monday, etc. This will mentor you to get enough time to do daily work more efficiently.
Get organized: Usually an unmarried guy does not believe in living an organized life so they follow it after becoming single dad too. If you are following the same practice, it may harm your personal life and you may lose peace in life. So become an organized man, follow a discipline.
Flexibility: You may follow a flexible discipline as you are a single dad and you may have to face several problems in your routine life. It would be better to be a man of elastic rather than being a stiff metal with unnecessary ego.
Accept help: To be a single dad is really tough job. You can’t do everything yourself moreover you dear relatives & friends will offer their assistance to support your parenting. In addition to this, you can also ask them avail their guidance for better parenting. They will be happy to help you in your routine work as well as on particular occasions.
Girlfriend’s help: To have a girlfriend is a good opportunity if you have a teenage daughter and you can’t guide her on physical, mental and emotional changes during her puberty. Maybe your girlfriend can advice her on such issues. If you don’t a girlfriend, you can assign this job to a close female relative or friend.
